4 simple ways to renew the design of your home and "banish" the monotony!

Are you tired of being neutral and monotonous in every corner of your house? Are you tired of the same gray sofa you had when you were a student? Do you start building your house now and you do not know how to "decorate" it without making mistakes and exaggerations? No problem! You are in the right place to see ways for every big or small upset!

It has happened to all of us several times that we want to change the style of some areas of our house either because from the first day we entered it is the same or we neglected to deal with it. But our home is our refuge and we must rest and enjoy its appearance, even if we spend a little time in it.

So let's see 4 simple "tricks" to achieve it:

1. Carpets and Fabrics:

Every season of the year is different and just as we change the style of our clothes and adapt, so we must treat our home. The house should breathe in summer and be more full in winter! What I mean? When winter is approaching we want to cover our house with carpets. Their choice should be based on the style of the house. If our house is intense with vivid colors to prevail then it would be good to choose the neutral colors in our carpets so that we do not get tired in the eye. If on the other hand the furniture and the walls are white and beige then we will prefer carpets with more vivid colors and designs. But be careful to move in a color range so that they do not affect you later in the rest of your decorative choices!

Tip: Do not buy expensive carpets, so that you have the opportunity when you are tired and bored with them you can replace them more easily. If you still have more expensive quality then make sure to include them in the style and colors of your home.

In the summer months we usually remove the carpets and leave the house "naked". Otherwise we put in some places thinner and lighter carpets with more neutral colors or more summery (eg in front of the sink in the kitchen, on the coffee table or in the bedrooms and the bathroom)

Another element that will make our house stand out is the fabrics. Many times we prefer to add a cover to the sofa or throw to give a little color to our living room. We can dress the pillows with a corresponding cover or another matching color. Place extra large pillows on the floor around the living room to give an alternative style.Make sure the pillows contrast and tie in harmoniously with the rest of the set.The length of a curtain is what makes it look expensive. Take the right steps and keep your curtain slightly above the floor. This way it will look like it was made for you and will not look foreign in your living room.

Some colour ideas:If the gray color dominates in your house then the ideal choice to combine your curtains is a fiery red! If the brown color prevails in your furniture, then prefer the yellow shades! For more color combinations we will refer to another article. 2. Furniture conversion:

No, no ... do not stress, I do not mean to buy new furniture! Of course you have furniture of many years that you love and want their existence at home. But think about how much the decoration would change if you just placed them in a different order. How would it feel to see your sofa on the exact opposite side of where it is now and its place to be replaced by your favorite colored armchairs? Try it and you will not regret it!

Αlso move the coffee table that has been located right in front of the sofa for years. Anyway, this fashion has passed. Now you can use the table as an auxiliary and not in the center, thus freeing up space and giving it a more refined style. This is certainly not only possible in the living room, but also for the rest of the rooms.

As for the bedroom, move your bed in a different direction and free up space making it brighter! Remove the bedside tables if they are not absolutely necessary for you and use them in the hall of the house. Do the same at your kitchen table or any other piece of furniture that you think takes up a lot of space where it is placed.

Do not be afraid to liberate your space. Besides, you can change it at any time or even place it exactly as it was in the beginning. Remember that natural light must enter the house and be practical to clean it effortlessly!

3. Indoor plants:

As much as you may not believe it, only a few plants will make you see your space with a different eye. Many times you see in other houses or photos decorative plants but you always wonder how and where to place them correctly in your own house.

Plants provide positive energy and oxygen to spaces. They also have the ability to convey all their positivity to you. There are many types of indoor plants and each one highlights the space differently. Curtain rods are available in all homes and you can use them to hang pots directly or alternatively hang a planter and place some smaller pots. Plants can also be a natural partition against a wall, and share the living room from the kitchen or dining room from the living room. You can decorate the window sill with them, place them next to your composite or sofa and decorate your table with a tray of small plants.

In your kitchen it is also very important to have some aromatic plants on the counter or window as you will find them useful in cooking. Plants can play a leading role in any part of your home, large or small, large or small, and add color and vibrancy. After all, they are living organisms and will stimulate you with their presence!

4.Freshening ..:

When I say refresh I mean the renewal of the walls either you just refresh the same colors or change the color palette! If you are not ready to paint the whole house, a single wall is enough to change the look! If your room is painted in one color, choose a base wall to give them a bold look. If on the other hand the color prevails in your walls then change this color variety.

Think of the colors you love and combine them harmoniously, in the places where you spend most of your time. Here I will point out again that it is very important that our house rests, so take care of small "touches" that will make a big difference. Always keep in mind, of course, that the colors should match each other, but especially with the furniture and the style of the space!

There are infinite color combinations. But first get ideas for what attracts you the most and then dare to make a difference! Anyway, our house needs a "refreshment" after some years, even in terms of cleanliness.
